I have a Sunset Maple and I am wondering if I top it, will it spread out more, or would that be a poor idea. It’s a couple years old and about 12 or so feet tall with a nice shape so far. Also what do you recommend for fertilizing etc..

    Thank you,

    Amanda

You can top the tree, just make sure you pick a new leader and tape it to the main stem with scotch tape. A balanced fertilizer, 15-15-15 or the likes will do. Call me if you want more detail. Tony

    Hello Gary,

I guess I didn’t look in the comments section when I’ve been on my site. If you are still looking for trees I have all of the varieties still available. You can give me a call after 3:30 or email if you have any ?s.

Sorry for the late reply, I do not and would try Garden World up by Portland. How tall of a hedge are you looking for?
